  2. Malnutrition can cause severe and lifelong problems if not treated well. Eating well is a primary right of every child. Do you think enough efforts are being taken to protect the rights of children? After all, every child has a right to good food and health. Child health and nutrition are considered as the fundamental indicators of the health and well-being of a nation. It’s a proven clinical fact that a sound foundation during childhood days is extremely crucial for the overall development of a human being. In fact, 90% development of the brain occurs within the first five years of age. Thus, to ensure a right start to life, providing children their proper nutritional requirements is exceedingly important. CRY – Child Rights and You is working towards malnutrition, disease, illiteracy and a lot of issues. Looking at the recent health and nutrition week, we are actively engaged in bringing in people to donate and assist children who are malnourished and stunted. Malnutrition has severe harsh effects on children. Some of them are: 1.Vitamin and mineral deficiency Malnutrition majorly involves insufficient micronutrients like vitamins and minerals. Lack of these micronutrients can cause various health hazards like anemia, scurvy, etc. This kind of deficiency is not good in the long run. 2. Kwashiorkor Deficiency of protein causes Kwashiorkor and this kind of phenomenon is quite common among malnourished children. Severe Kwashiorkor can lead to coma and death. It is strongly recommended that protein nutrients should be given to the child regularly. 3. Poor wound healing If there is deficiency of vitamins, protein, and carbohydrates in a body, there is lesser probability of healing wounds. Malnutrition escalates the chances of risk of infections. This is a serious issue and needs to be dealt with complete attention. Malnutrition can cause severe issues and it is important to remove it from the grass root level. It is important to invest time, energy and focus on such a critical issue. CRY, a nonprofit organisation in India is looking forward to do their part. But it is only when you join in can the country be rid of the problem of malnutrition. CRY understands the malnutrition driven issues and channelizes avenues to bring the community together to work on it. The first step is to create awareness in the communities. People are informed of the current situation and are urged to work proactively in the same direction. This is where you come into the picture. Apart from sharing your thoughts on how the work can be taken forward together, you can also donate for children. CRY has been relentlessly working towards creating a healthier world for malnourished children. The objective is to create awareness on malnutrition and bring the right kind of investments for the underprivileged. Services towards society need attention, capital and actions. Good health can make the underprivileged children in shaping their lives. You can contribute and give them the gift of good health and happiness. Apart from malnutrition, CRY also works behind issues like child labour, child marriage, human trafficking, gender inequality and similar issues related to child rights.
