Flare Gas Recovery Systems

Flare Gas Recovery (FGR) is the process of recovering the waste gases that would normally be flared, so they can be used as fuel gas elsewhere in the facility. This results in reduced emissions and cost savings. CrystalTCS Flare Gas Recovery systems are tailored to meet the unique requirements of each customer. Systems are sized based on anticipated flare gas composition and flow rates. System components are mostly skid mounted for ease of installation.

  1. Flare Gas Recovery Systems Flare Gas Recovery (FGR) is the process of recovering the waste gases that would normally be flared, so they can be used as fuel gas elsewhere in the facility. This results in reduced emissions and cost savings. CrystalTCS Flare Gas Recovery systems are tailored to meet the unique requirements of each customer. Systems are sized based on anticipated flare gas composition and flow rates. System components are mostly skid mounted for ease of installation. Features: Pre-engineered, skid mounted design Sized based on anticipated flare gas composition and flow rates Modules can be combined to provide increased recovery capacity Pre-engineered piping kits provide interconnection between modules Flexibility in compressor type depending on application Integrates with a flare for a total solution Flare Gas Recovery Systems (FGRS) perform the following processes: Isolating the flare header with a proprietary-design liquid seal or staging valve Recovering normally flared gases and delivering them back into the facility so they can be processed and re-used as fuel gas Removing liquids Compressing gases up to a defined pressure level Cooling recovered gases (if required)

  2. Our approach to flare gas recovery: Each gas contaminant and each gas product influence the optimal line up of treatment steps, and expertise is required to quickly evaluate these. An internal study focusing on Iran has shown that approximately 50-70% of the currently flared gas resources in Iran can actually be made into valuable products with a payback period of five years as shown in figure below. The exact payback time depends on the gas flow, the caloric value, and the amount of sour gas contaminants. Based on this study and more than 3 decades of experience in the upstream oil & gas industry, we at Frames are able to help you select the product and the processes required, and evaluate the economics. Together with you we will work in the whole trajectory from conceptual design to plant start-up. At CrystalTCS, we offer solutions to recover a large part of the currently flared gas in a profitable way. We select the most optimal product and process line up, with short payback times and reduced emissions, and we take care of the equipment procurement, construction, and start up.
