  14. Sentence Writing Sample Donna was waiting in the lobby at 9:00 am. We had settled on this time, because we figured that traffic would be lighter -- the number one item of conversation in the area seems to be traffic! Except for a lunch break, we worked tirelessly until about 4:30 pm, and then headed back to the hotel, trying to avoid traffic, but that was not to be! It had been raining most of the day, and by the time we got on the freeway, traffic was at a standstill. While it had only taken about 20 minutes to get from Yorba Linda to Fullerton in the morning, it took us a full hour to make the return trip! New Practical English 3

  15. Sentence Writing A very kind man by the name of A. J. Teschen volunteered to drive out from LA to Yorba Linda, bring us to the show, and take us home afterwards. Little did we know, when this arrangement was made, that it would take him over two hours to get to the hotel, and take us another hour and fifteen minutes to make the return! We arrived at the show about 15 minutes late, missing the first two songs of Anne's show. None of us had eaten since about 2:00 pm, so when the show ended around 10:30 pm, A. J. could think of only one restaurant in the area that we could count on to be open at that hour on a Monday night - New Practical English 3

  16. Sentence Writing CANTOR'S, which turned out to be a typical New York style restaurant! The sandwiches were huge and delicious, and the conversation was just as heartening.
