  1. The Luigi Micheletti Foundation The Luigi Micheletti Foundation was established in 1980 in Brescia and obtained legal recognition as no-profit entity in 1999. The Micheletti Foundation promotes public initiatives (exhibitions, conferences, seminars, etc.) and historical studies. From 1980 to the present day, the Micheletti Foundation has carried out about 300 cultural initiatives and produced about 180 publications.

  2. Documentation & collections The Luigi Micheletti Foundation's documentation consists of: • a library of about 80,000 volumes specializing in contemporary history; • a periodical library with about 15,000 headings; • the archives of about 3,500 box-files, relating to political and social movements of the 20th century; • the illustration section of about 10,000 items (i.e. membership cards, picture postcards, political propaganda leaflets, etc.); • a photograph library with about 140,000 pictures; • the video and audio archives of about 6,000 reels of film and 3,000 videotapes.

  3. Documentation & collections The Luigi Micheletti Foundation's collections consist of more than 2,000 items of industrial production and work (machines, equipment and tools), as well as accompanying documentation (production samples, catalogues, manuals, etc.), which cover cinema and television, metalmechanical, textile, tanning, printing and IT sectors.

  4. The Luigi Micheletti Award The Foundation promotes the Luigi Micheletti Award, devoted to most promising scientific, technical or industrial museum. The prize is awarded every year since 1996. The Award is now administered in collaboration with EMA - European Museum Academy.

  5. The museum The musil (Museum of Industry and Labour) is the most ambitious project of the Luigi Micheletti Foundation. The musilconsists of 4 buildings in Brescia and its province: - the headquarters (at the present day under construction); - the Museum of Idroelectric Energy in Cedegolo (Brescia); - the Museum of Iron, in a district of Brescia; - the visitablestorehouse in RodengoSaiano (Brescia).
