  1. “OPERATION KRY” Christian, You Never Have to Sin Again or Volitional Perfection

  2. What follows is a Powerpoint presentation developed by Dr. Jim Brettell as a function of the James A. Brettell Bible Ministries (JABBM). The purpose of this presentation is to challenge Christians to understand that victory over personal sins is not only possible, but required of every Christian whose desire it is to function in the will of God during the Church Age. Christians do NOT have to sin, and “Operation KRY” is the means of victory.

  3. “Operation KRY” should be studied rather than read. THIS study is crucial to your spiritual life. A proper understanding of the content of the following slides will have a profound effect on your blessing in time and the reward that you will receive at the bema seat judgment. Without an understanding of the following slides, it will be impossible for you to reach the goal for your Christian life that is demanded by God the Father whose plan it is, namely, to become exactly like Christ in His humanity. To accomplish this, you must be able to overcome personal sins in your life. Becoming like Christ in His humanity and overcoming personal sins in your life are both achievable ends. Why? Because God the Father has decreed the plan to do so. It is now up to you and me to implement this plan. Study the following pages to learn the “how-to.” Feel free to e-mail with your questions: brettell@brettell.org.

  4. “Operation KRY” --------------------------- Romans 6:6 (K) Romans 6:11(R) Romans 6:13 (Y)

  5. LET’S BEGIN!

  6. “Hi. My name is Mr. Unbeliever”. here’s my body here’s my soul I am a dichotomous being. This means that I am comprised of two parts: soul and body. I have no operative human spirit.

  7. Unbelievers DO NOT have a human spirit. Adam lost his human spirit the moment he sinned. Adam became a dichotomous being and passed his dichotomy (body and soul) on to every member of the human race through procreation. It’s not until the moment of salvation that the Holy Spirit regenerates the new believer’s human spirit. It’s important to know that until a human being has a human spirit, he has NO communion with God – that is, NO COMMUNION with God – no relationship, no communion, and no fellowship. Ask yourself this question. If a human being has no relationship, no communion, and no fellowship with the God of Creation until he has a human spirit, JUST HOW IMPORTANT IS A HUMAN SPIRIT TO THAT MAN?

  8. Soul • Self-consciousness • Mentality • Volition + • Emotion • Conscience Hi. “Mr. Unbeliever” again. outside world body soul “Mr. Unbeliever’s” body places him in contact with the outside world, and his soul places him in contact with himself.

  9. Soul • Self-consciousness • Mentality • Volition + • Emotion • Conscience “Mr. Unbeliever” outside world body soul “I” “Mr. Unbeliever’s” body places him in contact with the outside world. Since his soul places him in contact with himself, prior to salvation, he lives an “I” centered life.

  10. PRIOR TO SALVATION Everything is about . . . ME “I” gimme

  11. human good personal sins OSN The human soul is where volition resides. The symbol for volition is (-V+). Human volition has both a positive and negative pole. The positive pole is used to make decisions consistent with the plan of God, and the negative pole is used to make decisions contrary to the plan of God. -V+ When an unbeliever yields to his old-sin-nature, he produces “old-man” function, human good or personal sins.

  12. “Mr. Unbeliever” When “Mr. Unbeliever” makes volitional choices, he has no other option but to make decisions from his fallen nature that the Bible calls the “old-man” (Colossians 3:9). This picture will represent “Mr. Unbeliever’s” old-man. Every human being has no other option but to function from his “old-man” until he is saved.

  13. “Mr. Unbeliever” is always under the influence of his old-sin-nature - V - personal sins human good OSN HERE’S HOW IT WORKS When “Mr. Unbeliever” makes negative decisions (-V) under the influence of his old-sin-nature, his old-man produces personal sins; and when he makes negative decisions (-V) under the influence of his old-sin-nature, his old-man produces human good.

  14. The cross represents the moment of your salvation Y X Prior to a man’s salvation, he manifests only “old-man” function because his yieldedness can only be to his old-sin-nature that produces either human good or personal sin. The “X” represents the moment of your physical birth The “Y” represents the moment of your physical death or the moment of the rapture whichever occurs first. This line represents your life from beginning to end

  15. AT THE MOMENT OF SALVATION spirit soul body X Y At the moment of salvation something wonderful happens. The dichotomous believer before becomes a trichotomous being: body, soul, and spirit. (1 Thessalonians 5:23)

  16. spirit soul body X Y IN ADDITION THE HOLY SPIRIT NOW INDWELLS HS HS In addition, the Holy Spirit takes up permanent residence in the believer’s human spirit.

  17. Hold onto This Thought until Later We’ll see the importance of the indwelling Holy Spirit in slide # 31. It is to Him whom we must yield if we are going to execute “new-man” function. The alternative is “old-man” function that dishonors God. Failure to yield to God the Holy Spirit results in yieldedness to the “old-man” and the production of personal sins or human good.

  18. Now, back to our diagrams.

  19. old-man AFTER SALVATION new-man X Y Salvation does not negate the old-man. At the moment of salvation, he comes into the Christian life; however, God gives us a “new-man” (Colossians 3:10) from which to live our Christian lives, but there’s a problem.

  20. old-man X Y WHAT’S THE PROBLEM? new-man The “new-man” is present – yes he is!! But . . .

  21. old-man X Y WHERE’S THE “NEW-MAN”? new-man The “new-man” is present, but the new believer doesn’t know it. Until the new believer is taught that he has a “new-man” living inside him, he spends his entire Christian life trying to reform his old-man.

  22. SOLVING THE OLD-MAN PROBLEM old-man X Y “Operation” K R Y new-man The problem is solved through a knowledge and application of “Operation KRY”

  23. Please, STOP and ask yourself the all-important question: “Do I understand the mechanics (the “how-to”) of implementing “Operation KRY” in my life? If the answer is “yes,” let’s just stop for a moment and praise the Lord for your understanding. If the answer is “no,” let’s just stop for a moment and praise the Lord. Why? Because the capacity to understand these all-important truths is contained in the 37 slides of this presentation. Let’s continue with the anticipation that the Holy Spirit is going to illuminate your mind regarding “Operation KRY.” new-man

  24. old-man X Y FIRST, THERE’S SOMETHING TO “K”NOW Romans 6:6 – Knowing this, . . . There’s the “K”. There’s something we have to (K)now!!

  25. old-man new-man X Y WE NEED TO KNOW THAT . . . Romans 6:6 – . . . our old-man was crucified with Christ . . .

  26. God’s viewpoint Your viewpoint old-man X Y BUT YOU SAY . . . new-man Wrong!! He’s alive and doing well!!

  27. God’s viewpoint Romans 6:6 Your NEW viewpoint Romans 6:11 old-man X Y ROMANS 6:6 says “KNOW” ROMANS 6:11 says “RECKON” new-man You now take God’s viewpoint and “reckon” (consider) your old-man crucified WITH Christ. Romans 6:11 Likewise RECKON ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, . . . (KJV)

  28. The DANGER of Half-Reckoning

  29. first half of reckoning last half of reckoning Your NEW viewpoint Romans 6:11 old-man new-man alive X Y HALF-RECKONING Romans 6:11 . . . but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord. (KJV) If the believer only reckons his old-man crucified with Christ and does not RECKON his new-man alive, he has only “half-reckoned,” falling short of the victory that comes by living his Christian life through his “new-man.”

  30. reckon your new man alive unto God reckon your old-man crucified with Christ old-man new-man alive X Y HERE IT IS – DON’T MISS IT Romans 6:11 . . . but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord. (KJV) This is the RECKONING THAT COUNTS! This is not optional. Fail to reckon in both directions and you will spend your Christian life functioning from the source of your old-man. This dishonors God no matter how much “good” you produce.

  31. “Mr. Believer” human spirit soul body NOW IT’S TIME TO YIELD TO GOD THE HOLY SPIRIT Holy of Holies Inner Court Outer Court By analogy, the body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. (1 Corinthians 6:19)

  32. yield human spirit Holy Spirit Holy of Holies soul inner court “Mr. Believer” outer court body NOW IT’S TIME TO YIELD TO GOD THE HOLY SPIRIT Mr. Believer will now yield to God the Holy Spirit. Romans 6:13 “. . . but yield yourselves to God [the Holy Spirit].

  33. Christian character Christian service Being taught truth Praise/Thanksgiving Leading/Guidance Witness with your spirit Intercession for you yields to produces Holy Spirit inner court “Mr. Believer” outer court YIELDING TO GOD THE HOLY SPIRIT PRODUCES . . . Yieldedness to God the Holy Spirit produces 7 manifestations. THIS is the Christian way of life and “new-man” function.

  34. CAUTION: IT DOESN’T SAY WHAT SOME SAY IT SAYS 1 John 1:8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. (KJV) The word “sin” in this verse refers to the old-sin-nature, NOT personal sins. Yes, we all have an old-sin nature until the moment we die, but the presence of an old-sin-nature does NOT mandate the necessity to sin. Sin is a matter of choice, not a requirement because we have an old-sin-nature. If Christians will use “Operation KRY” to deal with the old-sin-nature, volitional perfection is possible; the end result is being like Christ in His humanity. The provision for victory has already been decreed. Let’s appropriate the victory – by choosing to use “Operation KRY.”

  35. CAUTION: IT DOESN’T SAY WHAT SOME SAY IT SAYS 1 John 1:10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us. (KJV) The phrase “have not sinned” is past tense. Correct, we have all sinned in the past, however, past sins do NOT mandate the necessity for future sins, especially since God has decreed the means of victory over the old-sin-nature that is the source from which flows every category of personal sins. When a Christian yields to his old-sin-nature, the production is either personal sins or human good. “Operation KRY” is the means by which any Christian can be victorious over personal sins and human good any time temptation arises. Victory is yours. Choose VICTORY.

  36. WRAPPING IT UP The only way to produce the moment-by-moment Christian walk that pleases God is to function in “Operation KRY”. Romans 6:6: “K” (KNOW) Romans 6:11: “R” (RECKON) Romans 6:13: “Y” (YIELD) To fail to function in “Operation KRY” is to function from the source of the “old-man” whose production is human good and personal sins. “Old-man” function permeates modern-day Christendom and this explains why so many Christians have no spiritual impact and are suffering from their own bad decisions.

  37. THE FINAL CHALLENGE If you are born-again Christian, the goal of your life is to become exactly like Jesus Christ in His humanity, and the only means to reach this high and lofty goal is to do so by functioning in “Operation KRY.” Every Christian has the capacity to overcome the world and personal sins. This is NOT sinless perfection. It is “volitional perfection.” If a Christian can choose to sin, he can choose not to sin, and when yielded to God the Holy Spirit in the third step of “Operation KRY,” the Christian achieves momentary victory over the old-sin-nature, the source of all personal sins. The challenge to all Christians is to understand and apply “Operation KRY.” Pleasing God lies in the balance.
