  1. The Ocean By Cyrus Li, Lincoln Tong and Marcus Chow

  2. Animals There are many animals in the sea. There are fish, whales, sharks, starfish, octopus… There are over 2 million species of fish in the ocean.

  3. Plants There are also plants living in the sea. But we keep destroying them and there are only a few species left. This include seaweed, coral, kelp, plankton…

  4. Pollution We are polluting the ocean by many ways. Here are some examples. Damaging the corals Overfishing Oil pollution

  5. Dynamite fishing It is done by using explosives or homemade bombs. The shockwaves kills the fish and they are then caught afterwards on the surface or collected in the bottom from the divers. These explosions can kill a lot of fish at once, but it will also destroy the marine ecosystem by damaging the corals and reducing the fish stock by killing most of the fish and not letting them to reproduce.

  6. Co2 effect on the ocean As one of the Earth’s largest carbon absorber, the ocean roughly takes up a third of all human carbon emissions(mostly from factories and cars), reducing carbon dioxide in the atmosphere and it’s associated global changes. But as the ocean takes more Co2, the water turns more acidic, thus affecting shellfish like mussels and even plants like coral to have feeble shells and skeletons as the acidic water makes them to grow their shells in a less better place.

  7. Oil Pollution Black tar-like oil is sometimes washed into beaches. Not only they cause nuisance to the tours, but they kill a lot of seabirds in the same time as well. The oil mainly comes on tankers which wash out their holds while out at sea to save time in port.

  8. Sea Pollution Rubbish discarded at sea is often washed ashore onto our beaches polluting the coastline. Containers of plastic and metal are the most frequently reported litter. Drinks containers are common, mostly of the pull-tab type probably thrown away by tourists. There is more rubbish on the beach in the winter, probably because of the prevailing winds and large waves which force the litter ashore.
