  1. The Ocean Hannah .S. P5 4/13/11

  2. Environmental Factors • Greenhouse gases grows algae because of CO and photosynthesis. This in turn feeds fish and they get eaten an so on. • Global Warming is warming the water and making it more fun for humans to go in but in turn that causes more trash to be polluted. • Acid Rain mixes in with the water causing the water to be more acidic but ever so slightly. • The ozone layer causes more UV rays to come in and that destroys zooplankton because they have no protection against high amounts of UV rays. It also damages fish, crab, and shrimp larvae.

  3. Animals Relationships • There are many different animal relationships in the ocean. There is predator-prey, mutualistic, competition, parasitism, and commensalism. • Some examples are: • Mutualism: Cleaner Wrasses and a Batfish. The Wrasses get food and the Batfish gets clean! • Competition: Two sharks fighting over food. • Parasitism: Isopids feeding on body fluids on fish host. • Predator-Prey: Eel and crab. • Commensalism: Remora fish and shark.

  4. Why I chose the ocean… • I believe the ocean is a very calming and mysterious place. You have everything from a microscopic marine animal to 100ft long whale. From a clown fish to a gigantic squid myth called the famous Kraken.
