  1. Autism Speaks By: Jesse Matthews

  2. About Autism Speaks Autism Speaks is a charity founded in 2005 by Bob Wright. This charity works on providing funding for the research, prevention, and treatment of autism. They also work on reaching out and providing awareness to families, companies, and the government.

  3. At my school the drive for Autism Speaks was started by fellow HokieKarlySuccop. She started it through or National Honor Society program, and many of the members became involved, myself being one of them. At My School

  4. My Involvement I participated in the drive for Autism Speaks by selling the puzzle pieces pins, ribbons, and by selling puzzle pieces that other students could draw on. Every day at school for a given time, I would sit at a table and try to get students to donate or buy puzzle pieces.

  5. Reward After a month of promoting the charity Autism Speaks at our school, we were finally rewarded with the opportunity to publish our own article in our town magazine, Warrenton Lifestyle. The article was written by the organizer, KarlySuccop. Here is a picture of the article, and the link to the article is http://flipflashpages.uniflip.com/2/25656/89996/pub/html/26.html

  6. The Effect The effect that Autism Speaks had on our school was so profound that we did it again my senior year, even without Karly there. Once again I helped by selling the pins, puzzle pieces, and ribbons, and worked the stand during school to help promote the charity. Hopefully the tradition will continue at my school, and if it does I can proudly say I helped start it from the beginning.
