TRADE MISSION TO AUSTRALIA WITH Dr Orna Berry Chairperson MR SHALOM SIMCHON MK MINISTER FOR INDUSTRY, TRADE & LABOUR The Israel Export Institute together with Dr Orna Berry, Chairperson- Israel-Australia Chamber of Commerce invite you to join Mr Shalom Simchon MK Minister for Industry,Trade & Labour on a Trade Delegation to Australia, Monday 27/2 – Friday 2/3, 2012. The Australian economy is recognized internationally as being one of the most stable and successful economies. With a relatively small population of 22Million, Australia is the thirteenth largest economy in the world and is ranked in the Top ten economies worldwide when measuring by GDP per capita! Australia, has managed continuous growth since 1992.For many years Australia has outperformed OECD economies in both growth and robustness of the economy. For six of the last eight years, the Australian economy has been found the most resilient in the world and its average growth rate from 1998-2009 was 3.4 per cent. Whilst in Australia the Minister will be focusing on promoting Israeli exports including Medical Devices & Digital Media. In Healthcare, Australia is one of the richest markets in the Asia-Pacific region. The market ranks as the 12th largest in the world, while per capita spending is on a par with European markets such as Germany or the Netherlands.  Re:Digital Media- Australia is implementing one of the world’s largest infrastructure projects-NBN (National Broadband Network) which will connect 93 per cent of Australian homes, schools and businesses to a high-speed fibre optic network capable of providing broadband speeds of up to 1 gigabit per second. The remaining premises will be served by a combination of next-generation fixed-wireless and satellite technologies providing peak speeds of 12 megabits per second.
