  1. Proposal for optional procedure of All Electric Range test (BEV) WLTP-DTP-E-labproc-072 Proposal from JAPAN

  2. All electric range test for BEV • It is necessary to conduct each phase range (Low, Middle, High and ex-high) test separately due to more precise information for customer and in line with conventional vehicle sampling strategy. • However, this sequence is testing burden for laboratories. • SAE has been working on to establish the effective test procedure. • Japan propose to have a study whether this shorten procedure can also be applied for WLTC.

  3. Test sequence of shorten test (MCT) by SAE J1634 UDDS2 7.5mile (12.08km) 22min 52s CSCM 55mph (89km/h) UDDS3 7.5mile (12.08km) 22min 52s HFEDS2 10.26mile (16.52km) 12min 45s UDDS4 7.5mile (12.08km) 22min 52s CSCE 55mph (89km/h) UDDS1 7.5mile (12.08km) 22min 52s HFEDS1 10.26mile (16.52km) 12min 45s *CSC: Constant speed cycle The distance excluding CSC

  4. The proposal of shorten test for WLTC (Proposal 1) 1) To have equivalent driving distance for each phase, # of L and M phase driving cycle are double of H and Ex-H driving. 2) During later stage of test sequence, lower driving energy cycle (i.e. L and M) is appropriate to secure cycle traceability. Low1 (3.09km) 9min 49s Middle1 (4.76km) 7min 13s High1 (7.16km) 22min 52s Ex-High1 (8.25km) 22min 52s Middle2 (4.76km) 7min 13s Low2 (3.09km) 9min 49s CSCM 55mph (89km/h) Ex-High2 (8.25km) 22min 52s Low3 (3.09km) 9min 49s Middle3 (4.76km) 7min 13s High3 (7.16km) 22min 52s Middle4 (4.76km) 7min 13s Low4 (3.09km) 9min 49s CSCE 55mph (89km/h) The distance excluding CSC Constant speed [ xx km/h ] will be decided later

  5. The proposal of shorten test for WLTC (Proposal 2) 1) In case of Ex-high phase exemption. 2) To have equivalent driving distance for each phase, # of L and M phase driving cycle are double of H driving. Low1 (3.09km) 9min 49s Middle1 (4.76km) 7min 13s High1 (7.16km) 22min 52s Middle2 (4.76km) 7min 13s Low2 (3.09km) 9min 49s CSCM 55mph (89km/h) Low3 (3.09km) 9min 49s Middle3 (4.76km) 7min 13s High3 (7.16km) 22min 52s Middle4 (4.76km) 7min 13s Low4 (3.09km) 9min 49s CSCE 55mph (89km/h) The distance excluding CSC

  6. The proposal of shorten test for WLTC (Proposal 3) 1) More shorten test sequence Low1 (3.09km) 9min 49s Middle1 (4.76km) 7min 13s High1 (7.16km) 22min 52s Ex-High1 (8.25km) 22min 52s Low2 (3.09km) 9min 49s CSCM 55mph (89km/h) Ex-High2 (8.25km) 22min 52s High2 (7.16km) 22min 52s Middle2 (4.76km) 7min 13s Low3 (3.09km) 9min 49s Low4 (3.09km) 9min 49s CSCE 55mph (89km/h) The distance excluding CSC
