The AWC Summer Experiment 2012 provided critical insights into the implementation of GOES-R products. With dedicated GOES-R desks, forecasters engaged in training sessions and developed workflows to enhance daily weather operations. Participants included forecasters and FAA representatives who provided valuable feedback during the program. Key features showcased included simulated satellite imagery, lightning threat models, and low cloud and fog monitoring. The feedback highlighted successes and areas for improvement, paving the way for future research and operational transitions in weather forecasting.
