  25. Georgia Performance Standard: • S3L1 • Description: S3L1 Students will investigate the habitats of different organisms and the dependence of organisms on their habitat. • Elements: a. Differentiate between habitats of Georgia (mountains, marsh/swamp, coast, Piedmont, Atlantic Ocean) and the organisms that live there.d. Explain what will happen to an organism if the habitat is changed.

  26. ReviewHabitats, Ecosystems, and Environments Example What it is Ecosystem Environment Habitat • All the living and nonliving things that interact in a place • Everything around a living thing • The place in an ecosystem where an animal or plant lives

  27. What are the 5 habitats in the state of Georgia? 1. Mountains 2. Piedmont 3. Coastal Plain 4. & 5. Atlantic Ocean and Wetlands

  28. Describe each habitat…

  29. Click here to learn about the environment in a walk across…Georgia Mountains to The sea

  30. Every environment is in balance. Being in balance means there are just enough of each kind of living thing. If there were too many plants or animals, the environment would not be in balance.
