  3. SSI/IPS Basics • A set of satisfaction surveys for students, faculty, and staff • SSI: 98 items and 12 scales • Students use a 7 point scale to rate: • 1. Importance • 2. Satisfaction • Faculty/staff rate their perceptions of how important each item is and how satisfied students are • Sample items • The instruction in my major field is excellent • It is an enjoyable experience to be a student on this campus.

  4. Demographics • SSI • N = 446; 290 women; 150 men • 92% Caucasian/white; 3% Asian; 3% Hispanic, African-American, other • 2/3 frosh/soph • IPS • N = 129; 57 women; 67 men • 64 (70) faculty; 18 administration; 47 staff
