  4. Federal Aviation Administration • Spent over $185.6 million • Air-traffic control • Weather-monitoring systems • Conducted several tests • Preliminary test in late March • April 12, 1999 conducted broad test • Set clock forward to Dec. 31 on backup system • no glitches

  5. Airline Preparation • Boeing Co. and Airbus Industries • Indicate planes will not be affected • Concern of reservation systems • United has spent 15 million • Delta states they will be ready • Feb 4, 1999-All airlines began year 2000 reservations

  6. Airport Preparation • Systems Include • Baggage handling • terminal entrance and exit doors • temperature and climate controls • gate-display monitors • Some these systems will cause delays
