  1. Mark 4:35-38 35 As evening came, Jesus said to his disciples, “Let’s cross to the other side of the lake.”36 So they took Jesus in the boat and started out, leaving the crowds behind (although other boats followed). 37 But soon a fierce storm came up. High waves were breaking into the boat, and it began to fill with water. 38 Jesus was sleeping at the back of the boat with his head on a cushion. The disciples woke him up, shouting, “Teacher, don’t you care that we’re going to drown?”

  2. God is bringing us to a destination As evening came, Jesus said to his disciples, “Let’s cross to the other side of the lake.” Mark 4:35

  3. God is taking us on a Journey You are not where you used to bebut…You are not where you want to be

  4. In The Meantime: A Fierce Storm Came 37 But soon a fierce storm came up. High waves were breaking into the boat, and it began to fill with water.38 Jesus was sleeping at the back of the boat with his head on a cushion. Mark 4:37-38

  5. Possible Storm (Trouble) sources Storms from bad decisions (From our own doing). Storms from the enemy (From The Outside). Storms from a broken world (We Can’t Control it).

  7. You are in the storm with His Presence Jesus was in the stern, sleeping on a cushion… Mark 4:38a “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” Hebrews 13:5

  8. You are in the storm for God’s purposes The disciples woke him and said to him, "Teacher, don't you care if we drown?" Mark 4:38b

  9. James 1:2-4 Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.

  10. In storms, we want God to do a removing job. He wants to do an improving job.

  11. We want God to alleviate our problem when God wants to purify our faith through it.

  12. Mark 4:39-40 He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, "Quiet! Be still!" Then the wind died down and it was completely calm. He said to his disciples, "Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?"
