  2. The Meaning of Church Church is a place/ a building for Catholic and Christian people to have a mass inside and do rituals of their beliefs. For example: • Having a mass. • Celebrating Christmas/ Easter/ and more. • Doing the Station of the Cross. • Pray Rosary Prayer. • Praying at Chapel Adoration. • Visiting Mother Mary’s Cave.

  4. What is Clothing in Church? • For priests, Clothing in Church is an outfit that is used during leading a mass. It’s usually called vestments. There are many colors of vestments and it has its own meaning and the period of time to wear it.

  6. Reasons of Importance: The vestments are important because, priests must wear it in each occasions. The colors represents when to wear and what does it mean. Here are some colors of vestments: • White represents purity, light, resurrection, brightness, and rejoicing. It is used for Christmas, Easter, Weddings, and Baptisms. For Catholics, since Vatican II white is worn for funerals. It is suggested to be worn on resurrection (life after death). • Gold can also be used for Christmas and Easter. It can also be used for anniversary of the church. • Silver can be used like gold is for the same reasons. But, it’s used rarely. • Purple is worn during Advent and Lent. It stands for great solemnity, with meanings for both royal dignity and penance. It might also be worn in Offices or Masses of the dead. • Black is rarely to be used. It is usually worn on Good Friday and Funerals. It can also be worn on All Souls Day. It stands for no light and darkness. • Rose is worn on the third Sundays in Advent and Lent. Advent and Lent is a period of time that leads up to Christmas and Easter. The color stands for rejoicing.

  7. Purpose to Catholic People • For Priests, Priests wear vestments on their “duty” when leading a mass. Vestments are sacred and holy. People believe that it’s used to increase good thoughts in the priest’s mind.

  8. Conclusion • So, vestment is an artwork that is very important in the church because it’s used for the priest to lead the mass. It’s like a uniform of the priests.
