  2. The Meaning of Church • Community: A church is a building that is for people who believe in God. In the church they listen to the priest and pray to God. Church is a religious place. • Sometimes the building of the church is categorized from the artwork in the church for example the sculpture, paintings and more artworks.

  3. What is a Vestments? • A vestments is a special clothes that priest use in the church when he leads or attend the mass. It has different types and colors. There are 6 colors. The colors are: green, red, black, white, violet and rose. There are 6 types of vestments. The types are: cassock, alb, stole, chasuble, dalmatic and surplice.

  4. Reason to Create Vestments • The reason they create vestments is for the priest to wear in the church when they have a mass, and they create different colors because there are certain mass that they need to wear different colors of the vestment.

  5. Purpose for Catholic People (understanding vestments) • Green vestment: The green vestment is use in the ordinary mass when we do not celebrate anything. The green vestment shows faith, hope and life. • Black vestment: The black vestment is use when someone who have died, funeral massess and all soul’s day mass on November 2. It’s showing about death and mournings. • Red vestment: The red vestment is use in the certain mass like our Lord’s suffering on Passion Sunday and Good Friday. It is showing Holy Spirit, sacrifice and blood.

  6. White vestments: The white vestments is use in the mass that honor Angels and Saints, and also in masses that honor the Joyful and Glorious times of Jesus and Mary’s lives. The white vestments remind people of holliness, purity, innocence and joy. • Violet vestments: Violet vestments is use in the masses during the season of Advent and Lent. It reminds people of sorrow, penance and preparation. • Rose vestments: Rose vestments is use in the mass on the Third Sunday of Advent and on the Fourth Sunday of Lent. It reminds about holy joy.

  7. Conclusion • So I conclude that vestments have different colors for certain mass and it is important to use different colors of vestment so the priest can lead the mass easily.
