Massachusetts Hospital CPOE Initiative

The Massachusetts Hospital CPOE Initiative aims to implement CPOE in all hospitals in four years, partnering with stakeholders to improve patient care quality and lower costs. Seven technologies can lead to $2.5 billion in annual savings and enhanced care. The initiative receives support of $5.5 million from legislative appropriations and $1.5 million from MTC/NEHI. Strategies include readiness assessment, planning, standards, implementation support, ROI demonstration, and incentive programs.
