  15. Upgrading from 1.0 to 2.0 Preparation First, it is strongly recommended that you make a copy of your current database and ‘beta test’ the upgrade. Please note, if you have multiple locations all using a different database, you must upgrade ALL of them. Have an upgrade plan that you communicate with your users.

  16. Upgrading from 1.0 to 2.0 Installation Download the necessary files Open the PAW_FE 2.0 file The same ‘re-linking tables’ process as when you first installed PAW will take place. There will be a short period while the upgrade occurs. “Re-register PAW” with a Grant Start Date

  17. Upgrading from 1.0 to 2.0 New Features and Functionality Grant Start Date versus Program Start Date PAW 2.0 now has a method for calculating 9134 New Participant Counts so participants beginning in a quarter prior to the grant start quarter are counted in the grant start quarter. Race and Ethnicity 'Race’ and 'Ethnicity' are two separate headings. There is a new option: 'More Than One Race' Options under ‘Race’ are now mutually exclusive but one selection is required.

  18. Upgrading from 1.0 to 2.0 New Features and Functionality Birth Date 1. Enter a Birth Date, or 2. Select one of the new options: 'Age at Participation less than 18', or 'Age at Participation 18 or older.‘ Capstones and Drop Outs You now have the option of checking 'Dropout' on the service selection form which will reset the End Date to today's date. Batch Import Function

  19. Upgrading from 1.0 to 2.0 New Features and Functionality Help File This tool is available via the PAW menu bar; directly via the .chm file; and by pressing the F1 function key on the keyboard. The "Help tool" can also be used to get context-sensitive help for a particular form or report the user has open at that moment. Note: Some users may encounter a problem with accessing the .chm file. After download, right click on it and select ‘Properties,’ click the ‘Unblock’ button. Click the newly enabled ‘Apply’ button and then the ‘OK.’
