  3. Who owned the mines? Mainly in the hands of a few Bolivian nationals The owners were Simon Patiño, Carlos Aramayo, and Mauricio Hochschild Foreign investment was encouraged but after initial fascination in foreign investment, it died off

  4. Peak Years • 1926-1930 • Tin exports accounted for 70% of the Bolivian economy

  5. The Workforce It was mined by Indigenous peasants They moved from their rural villages to mining towns

  7. Prices In 1902 it doubled In 1917 it doubled again £154 in 1910 to over £300 during World War I But production costs pretty much stayed the same
