  1. Learning Resource Center

  2. Our mission • The Learning Resource centers on both the Knowlton and Hough campuses were established in 2006 to meet the need identified by parents and teachers to have additional resources and support for academics. • Our centers aim to: • Collaborate with parents, teachers, and students • Connect in and out of school resources • Carry out academic plans

  3. Our approach • Discuss and meet with students to create and execute a plan for an identified academic concern • Act as a liaison between the school, parent, student, teacher, and outside learning resource • Collect, collaborate, and share names of tutors, testing resources, and other important contacts families might need • Provide small group work groups for identified skills that might need remediation • Develop academic support plans • Monitor extended time testing and other special accommodations • Support teachers to make sure outside accommodations are understood and carried out when possible

  4. Our goals and objective • Identify area(s) of need • Provide a place for students to work on specific goals such as organization and time management • Provide a place for parents to get information about learning challenges or interests • Prioritize and begin one-on-one and small group pull outs • Develop a bank of tutors and resources available to parents and students • Collaborate with outside resources, from tutors to educational psychologists, to optimize the relationship for the family
