Join us for the second webinar discussing the NECAP process on October 5, 2011. This session will review exemptions, expectations during RIDE visits, and address any outstanding NECAP questions. Important dates include the test administration window from October 3-25, with noteworthy deadlines such as ordering additional labels and requesting special considerations. Session Objectives The purpose of this session is to: -Review what constitutes an exemption -Explain what you can expect from RIDE visits -Answer your outstanding NECAP questions
Important Dates October 3-25 Test administration window September 30 Last day to order additional labels October 7 All orders of additional labels shipped to schools October 25 Last day for schools to request special consideration October 26 Last day to complete on-line Principal Certification of Proper Test Administration and Principal/Test Coordinator Questionnaire October 26 UPS pre-scheduled pickup of test materials for return to Measured Progress. Materials need to be ready at 8:00 AM.
Determine who should be tested All students enrolled in the school as of October 1, 2011 are required to participate with the following exceptions: • Students who completed the alternate assessment for the 2010-2011 school year. • Recently arrived LEP students first enrolled in any U.S. school after October 1, 2010 are not required to take the NECAP reading and writing tests. A student may only be exempted from the reading and writing tests one time. However, these students must take the NECAP mathematics test. • Students who have state-approved special considerations.
RIDE Visits • The goal is to visit each LEA at least once • Schools were chosen at random, unless there were violations of test administration procedures last year • Building leaders will be contacted the day before visit • RIDE staff will observe test administration • RIDE staff will interview building administrator • RIDE staff will interview test administrator • Visit protocol is posted on website

Need help? • Refer to your copy of the Test Administrator Manual. • If you still have questions or need clarification after reading the Test Administrator Manual, or if you need additional test materials, contact your test coordinator. • If your test coordinator has questions about test materials or administration procedures, the test coordinator should contact the NECAP Service Center at 1-877-632-7774, Monday through Friday, between 8:00 A.M. and 4:00 P.M. • If your test coordinator has a question about a particular testing situation, test security, or a policy, the test coordinator should contact Dr. Kevon Tucker-Seeley at RIDE.
