  2. MACLEONARDO Objectives of Trip: Supporting the NEET group and building on the low rates of NEET reported by UNICEF for Denmark Assimilation and sharing of best practice between Denmark and Scotland

  3. MACLEONARDO Day one: Journey • Rough Landing • Interesting Train Journey Arrival at Baaring Højskole • Staff • Accomodation • Facilities

  4. MACLEONARDO Setting the Scene: Culture - Baaring Højskole: • Informal • Dress Code • Meetings • Communication

  5. MACLEONARDO Typical day at Baaring Højskole 8am: Morning walk with students 8:30: Breakfast – informal teacher meeting 9:00: Assembly 9:30: Lesson commences 10:30: Coffee Break 10:45: Lessons resume 12:00: Buffet Lunch

  6. MACLEONARDO 12:45 – 13:15: Students clean common areas 13:30: Afternoon lessons commence 14:30: Coffee Break 15:45: Lessons end Free Time 18:00: Evening Meal 19:30: Various Activities

  7. MACLEONARDO Day 2 • Trip to Odense meeting with local Youth Counsellor – Freddie Petersen. • Guidance in Denmark starts at point of entry up to the age of 25. • English class – International Students • Gløg supper at Hosts House 

  8. MACLEONARDO Day 3 (AM) Visit to Odense Production School Julie Karup – School Values: • Social responsibility • Corporate Social Responsibility • Learner autonomy and engagement • Staff extremely motivated and enthusiastic/emphasis on learner experience

  9. MACLEONARDO Day 3 continued: Per Henriksen: Pro-erhverv organisation (co-operation between Production Schools, Technical Schools, and other organisations involved with vocational education) • Talk/Presentation • Holistic Picture of educational system • Criminal Ship

  10. MACLEONARDO Day 4 Odense – Technical College – Kompas Project • Motivated/enthusiastic teaching staff • Learner autonomy/responsibility encouraged • Learners excellent ambassadors for the school • Excellent Resources – whole school devoted to 22 students

  11. MACLEONARDO Day 5 AM: • Visit to Copenhagen Business School • Business/Office Administration • Multi-cultural diverse environment • Learners given a laptop at the start of their studies and will get to keep it when reaching graduation – incentive.. Marie/Tina let loose in Copenhagen!!!!!!!

  12. MACLEONARDO Proposal for future Projects/EU funding: Possible Collaboration between Denmark, Scotland and another country.
