  3. Grading • 10 % midterm presentation • 60 % Bachelor thesis • 30 % final presentation • Attention: A 5.0 in one grade means that you completely fail!

What we expect: • Your bachelor thesis has to be based on economic theory. • Show what you have learned in your lessons so far! • We would appreciate theoretical models and / or empirical support. • Your thesis should be based on the ideas and publications of other researchers. • Your find further information about the formatting requirements on our webpage: http://www.ww.uni-magdeburg.de/vwl-iw/ and the link „Theses“ • Your thesis consists of 20 +/-2 pages • One page consists of 2500 characters incl. blanks • Remember that economics is concerned with efficiency! Do more with less!

  7. Presentations • 10 minutes for the midterm presentation • 20 minutes for the final presentation

  8. The midterm presentation • Show how far you got with your thesis. • Introduce your literature. • Ask about obstacles or points you are not sure about! • Show further research questions in the field of your thesis and discuss with the audience if you should include them in your work.

  9. The final presentation • Introduce the basic reasoning of your thesis. • Provide some additional information that is not included in your written work. • Discuss further research questions connected to your topic. • Give a glance at the recent developments. • Lead over to the discussion part.

  10. Presentations • Please remember to send your presentations one day before the meetings (i.e. 2.7.2012 and 8.5.2012) to Mrs. Mohr via email as .ppt and .pdf.
