  2. Buildings and history 1 s 2 • The first mosque was built in 784 at the site of an old christen church which was destroyed • Domes and pillars in a mosque were very important because they were the breakthrough at the time they were very complex

  3. buildings and Mosques 1 s 2-3 • Semicircular arches were a big part of mosques with arched pillars • Domes became the next breakthrough in modern buildings • Mosques took a long time to build because of the detail put into them and because of all the domes and pillars in a mosque

  4. History of buildings 1 s 6 • The buildings being built were though as one big shape. Then inside of the big shape they divided the shape into squares 4x4. They did this because of the detail. Each square would have tons of detail on the wall the celling and the floor.

  5. Buildings 1 s 6 • Mosque of Cristo de la luz in Toledo was built 1000 and was the crown jewel of modern architecture because it had 9 small domes with rib spirals on them for support and for looks.
