  1. is proud to present The Fire/Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Evacuation Systems that could savethe lives of you and your family!

  2. There are two types of Smoke Detection • Photoelectric • Ionization

  3. Photoelectric Sensing Photoelectric Sensing is substantially more sensitive than Ionization Sensing at detecting large particles, which tend to be produced in greater amounts by smoldering fires, which may smolder for hours before bursting into flame.

  4. Ionization Sensing Ionization Sensing is marginally more sensitive than Photoelectric Sensing at detecting small particles, which tend to be produced in greater amounts by flaming fires, which consume combustible materials rapidly and spread quickly.

  5. Ionization detectors do NOT workfast enough! • After conferring with some of the world’s top experts in fire prevention technology (listed below), we’ve opted to cease using ionization sensors in any of our products for a very simple reason: Ionization sensors do not react to large smoke particlesfast enough to save lives! • Below is a partial list of some of the experts who are also members of our Advisory Panel: Adrian Butler (Queensland, Australia) and Karl Westwell (Tauranga, New Zealand), Co-Founders of the World Fire Safety Foundation (www.TheWorldFireSafetyFoundation.org) Richard Patton, FPE – Founder of the Crusade Against Fire Deaths, Inc. (www.FireCrusade.com)

  6. There are two types ofPower Supplies • AC power is Alternating Current. In the U.S., this is 110 volts. • DC power is Direct Current.Direct current is low voltage. All Laser Alert® and Guiding Light® productshave both AC and DC power capabilities.

  7. All L.I.F.E. products function on either 110 volts or 220/230 volts. • If you want more information on world voltage standards please see: www.life-support-technologiesllc.com/world_voltage.htm • All L.I.F.E. products have built-in trickle chargers designed to work with rechargeable batteries.

  8. Problem: Power Failures Insurance carriers state that over 50% of theirlosses are attributed to fire and smoke damagethat would clearly have been prevented with properly maintained and functioning smoke/CO detectors. Laser Alert® and Guiding Light® products are both AC and DC; therefore, our units continue to operate even if there is a power failure.

  9. Preventable Fire-RelatedDeaths in the U.S. • Hundreds of deaths annually are directlyattributable to dwellings not having any formof smoke detectors in the structure. • Smoke alarms provide a 40-50% reduction in therate of fire deaths per 100 reported home structure fires. In 1999-2001, deaths per 100 home fires were 52% lowerwhen working smoke alarms were present. * *National Fire Protection Association®

  10. Carbon Monoxide (CO) Deathsin the U.S. Deaths due to toxic gases and/or oxygen deprivation, collectively called smoke inhalation, outnumber fire deaths due to burns. Our LIFE GUARDIAN® SG-4100 AC/DCCO Detector plugs into a standardwall socket, placing it below mattressheight for maximum protection.

  11. The Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) states that Carbon Monoxide, or “CO”, is theleading cause of accidental poisoning deaths in America, yet many people don't know they aresuffering from CO poisoning until it's too late. Sincethe symptoms of CO poisoning are like those of the flu,you might not even know you're in danger at first. That's why a carbon monoxide alarm is anexcellent way to protect your family. It can detect dangerous CO levels which you can't see, smell or taste.

  12. The ratio of smoke inhalation deathsvs. fire deaths is: • 2-to-1using death certificates from 2002 • 3-to-1using death certificates prior to1999 • 5-to-1using 1994-1998 NFIRS* data • 6-to-1using 1999-2002 NFIRS* data * National Fire Incident Reporting System

  13. Smoke-Related Deaths in the U.S. Of deaths directly attributable to fires,85% were due to disorientation from the structure being filled with smoke. LASER ALERT® and GUIDING LIGHT® Evacuation Systems Provide a Solution! * National Fire Incident Reporting System

  14. The SG-5500, SG-5550, SG-5600 and SG-5700 GUIDING LIGHTEvacuation Systems®, with their Laser or LED cannons and/or wireless Laser Domes, providea visible guide to a safe exit.

  15. Problem: Human Errors • Many deaths are directly attributable to dwellings having smoke detectors from which the occupant has removed the battery or disconnected the wires, as they did not like to hear the detectorgoing off “accidentally”. • Our products offer a way to reducethese human errors.

  16. All our LASER ALERT® and GUIDING LIGHT®products only have photoelectric and heat sensors, therefore NO FALSE ALARMS which occur with Ionization sensors. Coupled with our Battery-Safe ClipTM, L.I.F.E.’s Evacuation Systems greatly reduce the numberof human errors.

  17. Corrosion and Rust Many detectors, especially in coastal communities, malfunction due tocorrosion and rust. All of our detection units aremanufactured to be bothmoisture/corrosion resistant.

  18. Laser Alert® , Life Guardian® and Guiding Light Evacuation Systems® have alarms with a sound level of over 100 dB. This, combined with the ability of our base units to signal other units and domes within the structure, ensures the greatest protection.

  19. Ordinances and laws regarding the installation and typesof fire/smoke and carbon monoxide protectionvary from county to county andfrom state to state. MUNICIPAL CODE OF CHICAGO, ILLINOIS 13-64-120 Smoke detectors – Required in all residential units. All buildings of residential or mixed occupancy except those complying with the terms of Chapter 13-76 of this Code having any residential units, shall be equipped with approved smoke detectors in the manner prescribed in this section.

  20. Many insurance companies will discount a homeowner’s property insurance policy if the homeowner hasan approved (according to local codes)fire detection system in the residence, whether a single structure, acondominium or an apartment.

  21. The same ordinances and laws specifywhere these detectors are to be placedand how many are required. • Current laws regarding manufactured housingare applicable to: • Mobile homes • Motor homes

  22. The important thing to remember is that by using our patented and trademarked units, you will have: • The ONLY fire/smoke detection devices in the world that emit a pre-targeted LASER or LED beam which points through disorienting smoketo a safe exit! • The LASER ALERT®or LIFE GUARDIAN EVACUATION SYSTEM® – destined to become the world-wide standard in fire/smokedetection and evacuation devices!

  23. SG-4100 SG-5500 SG-5600 LASER ALERT®/ LIFE GUARDIAN® Detectors

  24. LASER ALERT® and LIFE GUARDIAN® SG-4100 CO detector and SG-5600 and SG-5650 fire/smoke detectors with Transmitters & Satellite Domes These detection systems are a radical departure from any detector productspresently on the world market, as they have featuresnotfound on any otherproducts available for either residences or commercial/industrial structures. Each of our units equipped with a transmitter can activate various kinds ofsatellite domes (each unit comes packaged with a laser beam satellite dome). When the unit is activated, it immediately activates all domes linked to it. Thelaser beam satellite domes point to pre-targeted locations, whether a staircaseleading down to safety or a door or window leading out of the structure. It is a known fact that the majority of deaths in a fire are from smoke inhalation because smoke disorients an individual from knowing which directionhas a safe exit from a room, building, structure, etc. You can add as many satellite domes as needed for your structure; they allactivate from the base unit’s signal via its transmitter.

  25. LASER ALERT® and LIFE GUARDIAN® Satellite Domes for our SG-4100 CO detector and our SG-5600 and SG-5650 fire/smoke detectors. When our detectors are activated, they immediately activate all domes linked to them. The laser beam satellite domes point through dense, disorienting smoke to pre-targeted locations, whether a staircase leading down to safety or a door leading out of the structure, while the speaker domes emit a user-recordable voice message. Strobe domes, which emit a bright, flashing light to alert the hearing-impaired, and Closed Circuit TV domes are also available. You can add as many domes as are needed for your structure;all are activated by signals from transmitters withinthe various base units you may have installed.

  26. SG-4000 Life Guardian® Carbon Monoxide* Detector • Hand-held for portability • Detects dangerous *CO levels • Rechargeable 10-year NiMH Battery

  27. The SG-4100 ProtectsHigh CO-Risk Areas Because carbon monoxide often comes from areas such as the garage, the workshop and the laundry and furnace areas, our SG-4100 LIFE GUARDIAN® will alert you to danger with featuresnot found on any of our competitors’ products! Our goal is to have the L.I.F.E. brand synonymous with detectors that ensure early warnings of danger in buildings of all sizes, from single-dwelling residences to high-rises. SG-4100 CO Detector Instant 110-volt Plug-In The SG-4100 LIFE GUARDIAN® plugs into a standardwall outlet, so there is no need for drilling holes and using hand tools.Fitting is instant and fuss-free. 33. Satellite dome with laser cannon LASER-ALERT® SG-5600 and SG-5700 base units come packaged with one satellite dome with alaser cannon which can be pre-targeted to a stairwell, thelanding on a stairwell or any door leading out of a structure, whether a dwelling or a commercial/industrial building. All of our satellite units are AC/DC, have a snap-in connector and are programmable to be compatible with the base unit(s). There is no limit to the number or types of satellite units you may choose to be part of your fire/smoke and carbon monoxide detection system. SG-4100, which is a carbon monoxide detector, comes with a speaker dome.

  34. Click speaker for sound Satellite Dome with Speaker Use of the rotating mounting plate allows the speaker dome to be pointed toward a bed or other point in an area. All of our speaker domes have built-in recording capabilities. Studies at leading universities have proven that a personis likely to listen more attentively to a familiar voicethan to a generic message. NOTE: The SG-4100 Life Guardian® CO Detector activates our speaker domes when carbon monoxide reaches dangerous levels.

  35. Satellite dome with laser cannon and speaker Our laser / (programmable) speaker satellite domeperforms two functions upon activation:its laser cannon reveals your pre-determined escape path, while your pre-recorded message is continuously replayed. All satellite domes emit a horn sound of 100+ dBwhen activated (while the speaker is on,the horn warning is muted).

  36. Satellite dome with strobe Our strobe dome emits a brilliant flashing light to alertthe hearing-impaired, and like our laser and speaker satellitedomes, it also emits a 100+ dB sound when activated.

  37. Satellite dome with Closed Circuit TV with remote control capabilities for pan and tilt We are developing Closed Circuit TV camera domes, some with built-in motion detection and all with the ability to alert a remote computer oryour cell phone and allow you to pan and tilt the camera by using the arrows on your computer’s keyboard or the directional tabson your cell phone. The use of these satellite domes ushers in a new era in fire protection, as well as offering the ability to monitor your premises, whether residential or industrial, from the screen of your cell phone.

  38. All of our Base units containing RF transmitters can transmit toanyof our satellite domes, of which we currently have five different types. We also offer a vibrating pad which fits under a bed-pillow; we recommend its use with our strobe dome to alert thehearing-impaired. All of our base units and allof our satellites are AC/DC and have the same type of programmable 8 on/off switches in order to make them compatible with the base unit(s). All base units containing RF transmitters come with one laser satellite dome (SG-4100 comes with a speaker dome) and, as all of our satellites are programmable, you may purchase additional satellite units either at the time of original purchase or at a later date. All of our base units and satellite domes use snap-in connectors for the AC power and are extremely easy to install.
