  3. Approach to Conversations: • Open-ended questions when possible • Seek out shared ideas and concerns • Capture individual concerns, too • Keep survey guide to 30 to 40 minutes (averaged about 25) • Allow for confidential statements Thanks!

Survey Guide: Preamble • Why have you decided to engage in the SRST? • Is this the message you provide others when/if asked? • Do you think your colleagues would make similar statements? • Where would you expect this team to be in two years? • What progress MUST the Team make over two years? • A. Survey Guide: (continued) • What are the roles of the Central Florida Partnership and the Tampa Bay Partnership as conveners of this Team? • Has the Team effectively dealt with the challenges of protocol, membership, and management thus far? • At the last meeting, it was determined that review of transportation agendas and priorities from the Central Florida Partnership, the Tampa Bay Partnership, and Polk should be completed IF someone would provide a draft view of primary overlaps.A. Is that something you would want to hear about on September 15?A. Should the SRST begin crafting a tactical plan for commuter rail as well? Are we ready for that? • What counsel do you provide the executives and volunteer leaders of task forces, projects, chambers, and other entities regarding HOW this Team’s work is used? • Have you taken a look at the Team resources now posted on the web?A. Do you have any counsel on managing these web resources?

Transportation comparison assignment from Meeting #2 – Counsel? • Have to see the results first • Not sure if there will be an answer in this – Need clear strategy or vision first • May be wrong place to start • “Alignment and agreement are 2 different things” • May help in understanding how to use information to take action • Perhaps this will help us set priorities • In the spirit of putting everything on the “table” - Good

  19. Posting documents and work product in “plan view” – Counsel? • Transparency is vital and this is a good behavior • A few draft guidelines from individual interviewees: • Author has the final “say” on posting (allows for breaking news/context/speculation) • Post WITH CONTEXT

  20. Resources on web? Organized properly? • About 50% have reviewed the “file cabinet” • General organization is good • Keep it flexible – Be sure aging documents do not conflict with primary documents and messages • One interviewee cautions about links and overlaps on sites

  21. A word or two about Polk • SRST is a catalyst for discussion and action • Patience, patience • Strong interest in finding both the process and the “voice”

  22. Successes thus far: • Candor – Patience – Focus on Trust as Shared Value – Convening Despite Concerns about the Right Members • Vision for Clout, Voice, Action, and Identity “Ten years from now we’ll see this as the most important step in the history of the Super Region.”
