The Rio Grande Low Flow Initiative aims to address critical streamflow concerns impacting the region. Collaborating with agencies like the National Weather Service and U.S. Border Patrol, we seek to improve water management, enhance gaging accuracy, and tackle low flow impacts that threaten native ecosystems, tourism, and security. Key issues include illegal crossings, negative effects on native vegetation, and challenges in resource management. Our objective is to increase situational awareness, foster cooperation, and utilize data for better planning and monitoring of river health.
