  1. What’s your name? Michael Williams, but please just call me Mike. How long have you taught at EIT? Six years. Before that I was a chef. Why did you change from cooking to teaching English? After 20 years I needed a change and I have always found language fascinating. It’s funny, because both my parents were teachers and I swore I’d never be like them! What’s the best thing about your job? A difficult question. There are lots of great things, but the best one has to be seeing students becoming more confident speakers as their English improves. So, do you speak any other languages? Oui, je parle un peu français mais ne me posez des questions s’il vous plaît! Are you married? Yes. My wife’s name is Kim. She works in public health. Any children? No, only two crazy Burmese cats called Luca and Sly which often behave like naughty kids. What do you do when you’re not teaching? I play the guitar, listen to loud music, go bodyboarding, cook for my friends, read, get a lot of exercise on my bike, travel, watch films and try to always have a positive attitude to life.
