  2. Food Preparation 1 • Make sure that any utensils you use are clean; wash them before and after you use them • Remove all food scraps immediately – do not leave them around • Cover all food at all times

  3. Food Preparation 2 • Use different chopping boards/plates for different types of food • Put all implements on plates when not using them • Make sure that the food you are cooking has been stored correctly – unless it is sealed it should not be stored on the ground

  4. Personal Hygiene • Always wash your hands before touching food (whether preparing or eating it) • Always wash your hands after going to the toilet • Do not do any cooking if you have any cuts or you have a cold

  5. Other • Any food left unsealed in any way could attract animals etc. These animals can carry germs that make you ill. • Keep cleaning items (like soap) separate from food • Do not use dirty tea towels
