STUDENTS WILL REGISTER FOR • A TOTAL OF 9COURSES: • 6 courses are required • English I (Honors or Academic) • Math (Either Algebra I, Geometry, Honors Geometry, Algebra II, Honors Algebra II - Transition to Math optional elective) • Earth & Environmental Science (Honors or Academic) • World History (Honors or Academic) • Healthful Living • Career Management • 3 courses are electives • Base them upon your concentration of course selections

  25. MIDDLE SCHOOL COURSES FOR HIGH SCHOOL CREDIT • The high school mathematics, science and second language courses taken in middle school will help fulfill high school graduation requirements. • These courses will NOT count in the students’ GPA’s once they reach high school.

  29. “HOW DO I KNOW IF I SHOULD SIGN UP FOR AN HONORS COURSE?” MATH If your student took Algebra I in the 8th grade he/she will be placed in Geometry or Honors Geometry. Otherwise, placement in Algebra I or Transitions to Advanced Math will be made by referral and/or results of EOG scores/final grades. Transitions to Advanced Math is a math elective and available upon request. ENGLISH, SCIENCE AND SOCIAL STUDIES Students will be placed in honors courses based upon EOG scores, final grades and parent request.
