  1. VETASSESSINDEPENDENT ASSESSMENT VETASSESS Independent Assessment is developed and delivered independently of the training providerwhichhasbeenteachingandevaluatingthetraineeorapprentice. Thistime,IndependentAssessmentsareused in thelicensedtradesofplumberandelectrician, but they don’t apply to apprenticeships and traineeships more widely. The Independent Assessment aims to offer consistent feedback on training outcomes to all users of the apprenticeshipandtraineeshipsystem. WhenyoutakeanIndependentAssessment, it’sbeendevelopedandisdeliveredindependently ofyourtrainingprovider. VETASSESSisanindependentevaluatingauthoritythathasbeenengagedtodevelop,design, andconducttheevaluationoftheoccupations listed. Industry confidence in the validity, independence, and credibility of an evaluation is fundamentaltoensuringahigh-qualityvocationaleducationandtrainingsystem. Assessmentprocess: The evaluation will happen in a specified venue such as a TAFE, workplace, or RTO. It will include a practical assessment and a theory test. Outcome letters will be sent to candidates upon completion. The outcome letter will include the result from the evaluation and set out career development indicators. This information will be kept confidential. If the candidate is nothappywiththefinaloutcomeoftheindependentassessment,theycanchoosetore-sitby applyingagain. Data from assessments will be used for the improvement of the assessment process. Data identifying individual apprentices, employers, trainees, RTOs, or TAFEs will not be disclosed publicly.
