Initial Operations Ramp-up Start of EGNOS operations by the ESSP Operation Consortium • Increase of staff and resources to fully support EGNOS operations • Facilitate the transfer of knowledge and experience from ESA / Industry to Operator • Test the operations processes and procedures • Deliver remaining training packages to build up team capabilities May 8th 2006

Initial Operations Stabilization Reachnominal EGNOS operations performance (started on April 3rd 2006) • Stabilise teamresource profiles, to support EGNOS operations according to the operations performance requirements • Runnominal maintenance procedures across the EGNOS system • Complete operations processesandprocedure testing May 8th 2006

Initial Operations Qualification Operational qualification of EGNOS system operations • Demonstrate that EGNOS operations staff, plus procedures and documentation, can support EGNOS operations performances • Provide evidence towards the EGNOS System Safety Case with nominal operations • Concludes with the Operations Qualification Review (OQR) in early 2007 • Safety of Life service provision planned to follow this milestone May 8th 2006

EGNOS system handover • Full handover of the EGNOS system did not take place at ORR • A subset of the EGNOS system was provided to EGNOS industry • 1 CPF, 1 CCF, 3 RIMS (Paris, Toulouse, Lappeenranta), 2 NLES • EGNOS industry retained IOR-W (PRN 126) • ESTB was continued using AOR-E (PRN 120) • EGNOS was broadcasting on ARTEMIS (PRN 124) only • 1 NLES only due to technical problem with other NLES • Remaining subset of RIMS • 3 CPFs with numerous stability problems May 8th 2006

Recent changes • PRN 120 - AOR-E • ESTB operating continuously since 09/06/05 • Will be used for EGNOS SIS operations as from early July 2006 • PRN 124 – ARTEMIS • Operated by ESSP consortium since 26/07/2005 • Software version 0.4.9 currently being broadcast since December 2005 • Swap with PRN 126 mid June 2006 for operations mid July 2006 • PRN 126 – IND-W • Swap with PRN 126 mid June 2006 for industrial testing mid July 2006 • Limited transmissions over recent months with long periods of inactivity May 8th 2006

Operations User Support Website • New ESSP website (www.essp.be) planned in a few weeks providing additional information to the users per market domain • Link to the Operations User Support Web Site (already existing on current ESSP website): • General information on EGNOS operations. • Projection of performances on a weekly basis (registered users). • Performance information at RIMS sites (registered users). • EGNOS Subsystem status (restricted). • SIS-down alerts by e-mail (registered users)… • Existence of a Helpdesk (already existing on current ESSP website) May 8th 2006
