  3. First Step • User Name automatically appears • Password: OGSD

  4. Things to do on the computer • Write a report • Research • Play games • Create projects

  5. Opening a Word Document Start • Using the mouse, point the arrow at click on the start button • Find the Program Title: Microsoft Word • Click the arrow on the Microsoft Word Icon

  6. Creating a Word Document • Once WORD is open a “Blank Document” will appear on the monitor • At the top of the page you will see File Edit View Insert Format Tools Table Window Help • Point Arrow on File and scroll down to “Save As” and click • A screen will pop up that looks like this:

  7. The top arrow is pointing at a pulldown menu of locations on your computer, choose either the desktop or the 3 ½ Floppy if you have one • The bottom arrow is pointing to the File name, this is where you can type in your own document title
