  1. Dr. William E Sayle II We regret to announce the passing of Dr. William E. Sayle II, on Saturday, 2 February 2008.  Dr. Sayle was a dedicated IEEE volunteer who made outstanding contributions in engineering education for the IEEE and ABET.  He was a Professor Emeritus of the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Georgia Institute of Technology. Dr. Sayle was a member of the IEEE Educational Activities Board. He Chaired the IEEE EAB Accreditation Policy Council and served for many years on the IEEE EAB Committee on Engineering Accreditation Activities. In 2004, he was awarded the IEEE EAB Meritorious Achievement Award in Accreditation Activities “for contributions to enhancing the quality of engineering accreditation and dedicated service to ABET/IEEE accreditation bodies.”
