  1. The Muslim believes there will be a final hour bringing the end to this world's life, and that there will be a Last Day after which there will be no other day. Then the second life begins. The term last day refers to events of the Hereafter, when Allah the All-Mighty will resurrect all the creatures gather them before Him and call them all to account. Then He will reward the pious with the eternal bliss in Paradise, and the evildoers with the disgraceful chastise-in the Fire.

  2. None but Allah knows of its exact time, but it will come all of a sudden. Allah says: "They indeed are losers who denied their Meeting with Allah, until all of a sudden, the Hour is on them, and they say: "Alas for us that we gave no thought to it," while they will bear their burdens on their backs; and evil indeed are the burdens that they will bear!" [Quran 6:31] We have been told of signs and precursors that will indicate the closeness of the Day of Judgment. Some of the signs have already occurred, others are yet to come.

  3. The Prophet (peace be upon him ) said: "Among the signs of the Hour are: knowledge - in religious affairs- will be reduced, ignorance will prevail, adultery and fornication will be widespread, and there will be many women and few men, until for fifty women there will be one guardian." The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "The Hour will not be established until you witness ten signs: the smoke, Dajjal - antichrist, the beast, the rising of the sun from the west, the descent of Jesus son of Mary (peace be upon him), the three earthquakes - one in the east, one in the west and one in the Arabian peninsula, the last sign is a fire that will rage from Yemen herding people to their final gathering ground."

  4. How will the Day of Judgment begin? • Upon the command of Allah an angel named Israfeel will blow the trumpet: • - The first blow will lead to the complete annihilation • The second blow will lead to the resurrection and congregation before the Lord of the Worlds. • What will happen on that Day? • Allah says: "O mankind! Fear your Lord and be dutiful to Him! Verily, the quake of the Hour is a mighty thing. On the Day when you see it, every suckling-women shall forget her suckling-babe and every pregnant one shall drop her burden. And you shall see mankind as drunken, yet they are not drunk, but the doom of Allah will be strong.'1 • [Quran 22:1-2]

  5. The first stage of reckoning starts in the grave. • In the grave the first thing a person will be asked will be: • - Who was your Lord? • - What is your religion? • Who is this man who was sent amongst you? (referring to the Prophet, peace be upon him) • If answered correctly, the person will succeed and be granted the glad tidings. • If not answered correctly, the person will be doomed and punishment will start from then.

  6. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: The son of Adam will not be dismissed from before his Lord on the Day of Resurrection until he has been questioned about five things: - His life and how he spent it, - His youth and how he used it, - His wealth and how he earned it - And how he disposed of it, - And how he acted upon what he acquired of knowledge."

  7. The day of Judgment will come for sure despite the argument that some people make, 'it is unlikely to happen' or 'it's taking too long'. Allah says: "Verily! They see it (the torment) afar off, But We see it (quite) near.“ [Quran 70:6-7] Allah says: "When the Event (i.e. the Day of Resurrection) befalls. And there can be no denying of its befalling. It will bring low (some); (and others) it will exalt. When the earth will be shaken with a terrible shake. And the mountains will be powdered to dust." [Quran 56:1-6] Allah says: "O man! Verily, you are returning towards your Lord with your deeds and actions (good or bad), a sure returning, so you will meet (i.e. the results of your deeds).“ [Quran:84:6]

  8. Allah says: "But if he is of the rejecters, the erring. Then for him is entertainment with boiling water. And burning in Hell-fire. Verily, this is an absolute Truth with certainty. So glorify with praises the Name of your Lord, the Most Great.” [Quran 56:92-96] Allah says: 'So turn away from them. The Day that the will caller will call to a terrible thing. They will come forth, with humbled eyes from graves as if they were loctus spread aboard. Hastening towards the caller. The disbelievers will say: "This is a hard Day“ [Qur'an :]

  9. Allah says: "O mankind! Be afraid of your Lord, and fear a Day when no father can avail aught for his son, nor a son avail aught for his father" [Quran 31:33] Allah says: "Verily, those who disbelieved, and died while they were disbelievers, the (whole) earth full of gold will not be accepted from anyone of them even if they offered it as a ransom." [Quran 3:91]

  10. Allah says: "And those foremost in this life will be foremost (in Paradise). These will be the nearest (to Allah). In the Gardens of Delight." [Qur’an 56:10-13] Allah says: "They will be on thrones encrusted with gold and precious stones." [Qur'an 56:7 57] Allah says: "Reclining thereon, face to face. They will be served by immortal boys, with cups, and jugs, and a glass from the flowing wine, Wherefrom they will get neither any aching of the head, nor any intoxication. And fruit; that they may choose. And the flesh of fowls that they desire. And pure, beautiful ones with wide, lovely eyes (as wives for the pious), Like unto preserved pearls. A reward for what they used to do. No vain talk will they hear therein, nor any sinful speech." [Qur'an 56:16-25]

  11. 'And those on the Left Hand, how (unfortunate) will be those on the Left Hand? In fierce hot wind and boiling water, And shadow of black smoke. (That shadow) neither cool, nor good. Verily, before that, they indulged in luxury, and were persisting in great sin, and they used to say: "When we die and become dust and bones, shall we then indeed be resurrected? And also our forefathers?" Say, "(Yes) verily, those of old, and those of later times."‘ [Qur'an 56:41-49] All will surely be gathered together for appointed Meeting of a known Day. "Then moreover, verily, you the erring-ones, the deniers (of Resurrection)! "You verily will eat of the trees of Zaqqum (an evil tree). "Then you will fill your bellies therewith, "And drink boiling water on top of it, "So you will drink (that) like thirsty camels!" That will be their entertainment on the Day of Recompense! We created you then why do you believe not? [Qur'an 56:50-57]

  12. Allah says: "(They) will be given to drink, boiling water, so that it cuts up their bowels." [Quran 47:15] Allah says: "... And if they ask for help, they will be granted water like melted brass that will scald their faces. How dreadful the drink and an evil dwelling." [Qur'an 18:29] The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: ! "Anyone who drinks intoxicants will be made to drink the mud of Khabal." They asked, "O Messenger of Allah, what is the mud of Kabal?" He said, "The sweat of the people of Hell," or "the juice of the people of Hell."' The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "It is like boiling oil, and when it is brought near a person's face, the skin - of the face falls off into it."
