  1. Or How to Succeed with Motion, Visuals & Thoughts 3 Writing Activities

  2. Activity # 1 Power Writing • Write as much as you can for 3 minutes about a given topic, not concerned about grammar per say . Write just what comes into your mind –Yes, have fun.

  3. Topics for Power Writing • Anger • Beans • Campbell's Soup • Danger • Elephant • Flowers • Gangster • Halloween

  4. Anger: Power Writing Unframed(?) • Anger is when you lose control, the head spins, the saliva splatters, and the temperature goes up. You, dear friend, have just lost control.

  5. Anger: Power Writing Framed (?) • Anger is when you lose control like a runaway train. The smoking head spins, saliva splatters, and the temperature revs up. You and I have just lost control and we’re off the tracks, crashing into walls and damaging all.

  6. Activity # 2 Where Am I ? • I walk the ramp, slowly, guided by the rope light and the patterned deep red carpet. Glancing to the top after a turn, I can see what is available. Then I slide unto my seat and bring down the sides, take off my shoes, and adjust my legs to a comfortable position.

  7. Where am I ? • Lights are overhead, intensely bright, and bodies pass me in strident colors. Away in the distance I hear the rhythmic drums, even whistles , bells, and yells.

  8. Where Am I ? • The fence is worn and gray and the plants need watering; however, you are not interested in that right now. Scratching the concrete floor, the sound is soon softened by the shadows and breezes that settle my nerves.

  9. GROUP Activity: Your turn ! • In a group of two or three, write up three places that you love, not explicitly but implicitly. Implicit thoughts are understood, but not directly stated.

  10. Activity # 3 Describe our room—or, if you wish your room-- using the senses ( smell, sight, sound, touch, and taste). Include two students and the teacher if doing our room. Include two or three biological beings if doing your own room.
