  4. A. Suppose you witnessed the whole process of this crime in the spot, and you are expected to give a detailed description of this criminal by the police. The following questions are given just as references. 1.What sort of age was he? 2.How tall was he? 3.Was he a strong guy? 4.What about his hair? 5.Anything about his facial appearance that makes him easy to recognize? 6.Anything special about his wearing?

  5. B. Here use your imagination, and suppose you’re a police, can you give a crime report after the investigation? You can also think the follow questions as references. 1.What’s the crime? 2.When and where did it happen? 3.Who is the victim? 4.What should the readers do if they have information as to the criminal’s identity? 5.What should the readers do if these things happen to him? 6.What will the police do to stop these things from happening?

A formal crime report usually covers the following questions: • What is the crime? • When did it happen? • Where did it happen? • What exactly happened? • What did the criminal look like? • What should the readers do if they have information as to the • criminal’s identity? Practice: Through reading Text 2.1, can you find the specific information about the questions above in it?
