  1. SAAC Orientation

  2. What Does SAAC mean to you?

  3. Functions of Student Athletes • Represent your team within the Stonehill community and in the surrounding communities of Easton and Brockton. • Being on the SAAC committee is an honorable privilege – should not be taken for granted. • Attendance and Participation at monthly meetings are crucial! • Be a leader to other athletes and students!

  4. Functions of Student Athletes • Provide a voice to your team • Through social media outlets (email, text, twitter, SAAC facebook group etc.) • Take a few minutes at the end of practices or workouts to discuss issues or upcoming SAAC events • Help fundraise for M-A-W • The M-A-W foundation works in partnership with Division II – last year UMASS Lowell contributed over 11,000$ to the organization. • Overall, The M-A-W foundation made over 400,000$ from Division II programs alone.

  5. What SAAC is: • We are a committee made up of student-athletes assembled to provide insight on the student-athlete experience. • A liaison between the Athletic department and all of the Student Athletes at Stonehill, in particular your specific team. • We also offer input on the rules, regulations and polices that affect student-athletes' lives on NCAA member institution campuses.

  6. Goals: • Strengthen community outreach • Improve High School Seminar • My Brother’s Keeper • Raise over $2,500 plus for M-A-W • Make a substantial proposal to Res Life with concerns to merit points/housing • We are also looking to work more in partnership with the Life Skills committee this year.
