  1. Video and Image Processing (VIP) Dr. Fu Lihttp://www.ece.pdx.edu/~fli/ • PSU Tektronix VIP Labs (Video and Image Processing): • Features various testing and measurement equipment of image and video from the generous donation of Tektronix. • Designated for graduate research and undergraduate Capstone design projects. Providing a work place for to the students in image processing classes, for our annual short-course on image and video compression. • We work with Oregon industry in image and video technologies. • We are also interested in wireless communication technologies. • We offer annual short courses on • Wireless Network • Video Compression My effort also goes to international program, in particular, our satellite degree program in Shanghai, in partnership with the International Institute of Information Science and Technology (IIIST). As a counselor to IEEE Student Branch at PSU, I work on student project, such a S-PAC, S-PAVe, field trip, mock interviews, etc. If you can help our students, please contact me. • Research Interests and Efforts: • Communications • Wireless • Multimedia • Compression • Video • Image • Industrial Design • Power Amplifiers • Signal Processing • Spectrum Estimation • Some of our papers: • “Spectrum modeling of OFDM signals for WLAN,” IEE Electronics Letters, Volume 40, No. 22, pp., October 28, 2004. • “Determination of Number of Sources with Multiple Arrays in Correlated Noise Fields,” IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing, Vol. 50, No. 6, pp. 1257-1260, June 2002. • “Spectrum Design of RF Poweramplifier For Wireless Communication Systems,” IEEE Transactions on Consumer Electronics, Vol. 48, No. 1, pp. 72-80, February 2002. • “Spectrum Modeling of RF Power Amplifier for MIRS M-16 QAM Signals,” International Journal of Electronics, Vol. 89, No. 2, February 01, 2002. • “A Note On Estimating The Number Of Superimposed Exponential Signals By The Cross-Validation Approach,” Communications in Statistics—Theory and Methods, Vol. 30, No. 8&9, pp. 1579-1589, August 2001. • “Detection in Signal Processing,” Encyclopedia of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, John Wiley & Sons, Inc., Publishers, 2001. • “Subspace-Based Seismic Velocity Analysis,” invited chapter in Covariance Analysis for Seismic Signal Processing, Society of Exploration Geophysics, Editor, R.L.
