  6. Why The Need For S.T.A.R.S. ? • Although we, the M.A.C., have an outstanding sportsmanship program, it can always be improved upon. Research shows that programs designed for students become much more effective when they are allowed to take ownership.

  7. Recommendation • S.T.A.R.S. would have 4 representatives (2 male and 2 female) from each school. (1 each Freshmen, Sophomore, Junior, Senior). • S.T.A.R.S would meet four times per school year (prior to each sports season and in June). • S.T.A.R.S. would have several sponsors directing the group at large. These could and will include AD’s as well as coaches. • S.T.A.R.S. will put out ideas, suggestions, initiatives and guidelines for each M.A.C. school to utilize and to follow. Hopefully this will take place thru a Captain’s Council or leadership group run by the school.
