The Projects • Two concurrent aspects: • Performance • Acquire performance data • Validate Demand Response performance • Using existing IBCS OS infrastructure • Dispatch & Telemetry Methodology • Determine method to interface with ISO dispatch software • Determine telemetry requirements & solution
Program • Operate for 1 year • 50 MW total enrollment • SWCT & NEMA only • Reduce in 30 minutes • Registered in RT 30 minute Demand Response • Less than 5 MW • Activated during Shared Activation Reserves (SAR) events • Forward Reserve Auction price • Performance payment / penalty
Program Design * Settlement Only Generators change registration to RTDR
Dispatch & Telemetry • Investigate concurrently with Performance portion of project • Determine information required by ISO • Examine alternatives • Lower cost compared to RIG & SCADA
