At the February 22 Open Meeting, the PUCT Commissioners acknowledged the Demand Response Task Force (DRTF) for their diligent work. They advised against pursuing a manual solution, emphasizing the need for a long-term, infrastructure-based solution utilizing AMI. The DRTF is tasked with developing a short-term solution to enable limited retail Demand Response programs by summer 2008, which will inform the long-term strategy. The immediate goal is to deliver requirements for a "Bridge Solution" by February 2008 and provide recommendations for a sustainable long-term framework.
