  2. Tier 1 – All Students • Curriculum • Storytown/Go Math • Research-based • High quality • Instructional strategies • Differentiated Instruction • Assessments • All Students • Data collection informs instruction ≥ 80% of students are successful in core instruction

Tier 2 - Problem Identification • Identify the problem area(s) • Behavior • Reading • Math • Forms Needed • Anecdotal Observation Record • Face to Face Parent Conference – specific to RTI • Consideration for Tier 2 form • In order to move to Tier 2 – evidence of DI in Tier 1 must be provided/documented. • After all the above is complete a meeting can be scheduled with the RTI team.

Tier 2 Follow-up Meeting/Is it working? • After Tier 2 is implemented for 6 to 8 weeks, review student progress. • Has growth been meet? • Is the intervention targeting the right skill? • Is the correct assessment tool being used for progress monitoring? • Does the intervention need to change? • Forms Needed • Parent conference – face to face • Graph • Fidelity • Current Grades , FAIR scores, etc…

  5. Tier 2 Review • Schedule observation – if necessary • Forms Needed • Problem-Solving Team Log • Tier 2 Graph – updated • Fidelity form – reviewed at each meeting • Face to Face Parent Conference – specific to RTI • Current grades, FAIR scores, etc… • Consideration for Tier 3 is an RTI team decision.

  6. Important Information Who? Who is the RTI team? • 4th and 5th grade students who scored a 1 one the FCAT reading or math. • Any student who was in RTI at the end of previous school year. • Any student who has D and/or F consistently. • Any student who was retained the previous school year. • Teacher • Parent • Administration • School Psychologist • Guidance Counselor • Literacy Coach • Curriculum Resource Teacher • Resource Teacher

  7. Non-Negotiables & Thoughts • Grades must reflect RTI need • Students must be identified early, not in May  • Computer based programs are not equivalent to teacher instruction.
