Breast Cancer and the Environment Research Centers • Study the prenatal-to-adult environmental exposures that may predispose a woman to breast cancer • Funded jointly by the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences and the National Cancer Institute • $5 million a year over seven years / $35 million • Funded Centers: • University of Cincinnati • Fox Chase Cancer Center, Philadelphia, PA • University of California, San Francisco • Michigan State University, East Lansing

  6. Summary • NCI (& DCCPS) support many research centers focused on discovery • CPCRN different in its primary focus on moving discovery into delivery • CPCRN also represents an important opportunity for CDC and NCI to coordinate and collaborate on cancer control research support
