2017 NRHARC FIELD DAY

Join us for the 2017 NRHARC Field Day at the Fire Department on June 23rd. We have a new toy this year - a salvaged mobile telescoping pneumatic mast! Come see our antenna mast and find the government worker in the photo. Saturday morning we attached the coax and dipole, and had a successful 20 meter operation until someone turned the switch off. Don't miss out on the fun!

  3. In 2016 we got creative and put up a temporary tower and used the services of the NRHFD as a field exercise.

  4. June 23, 2017 means it is time to set up at the Fire Department and get ready for Field Day. And of course that means we will have our first 100 degree day.

  5. This year we have a new toy courtesy of Roger Courtney Sr. - N5RCS. Using a salvaged mobile telescoping pneumatic mast, the mast was mounted to a custom made mobile trailer. The results where nothing more than fantastic.

  6. So Rodger, I thought this was an antenna mast not a ICBM !

  7. Antenna is built and ready to mount on top of the mast.

  8. Can you find the government worker in this photo?

  9. Now we have a 70” portable tower to use.

  10. Saturday morning we attached the coax and dipole.

  11. Saturday 20 meter was working well until that night. Then someone turned the switch off on the band. The switch was turned back on Sunday morning.

  12. 2017 ARRL Field DayK5NRH 40 Meter Station Station Captain: Rich Carlson – AI5R
