  2. Some types of computer viruses are listed below: – Some viruses interrupt processing by freezing computer systems temporarily and displaying sounds or messages.

  3. – A time bomb is a virus program that performs an activity on a particular date. – A logical bomb is a destructive program that performs an activity when a certain action has occurred.

  4. – A worm is also a destructive program that fills a computer system with self-replicating information, clogging the system so that its operations are slowed down or stopped.

  5. Computer viruses can damage a computer seriously.

  6. In order to protect computer systems against computer viruses, anti-virus programs have been developed. • Most anti-virus programs protect against viruses written or look for viruses that attempt to modify the boot program and the operating system.

  7. Actions that can be done to avoid virus infection: – Use original copies of software. – Install virus protection software on every system that works on.

  8. – Always scan the disks with anti-virus programs before using them. – Always scan any material with anti-virus programs before it is loaded onto the hard disk.
