The error code pops up on the user’s computer screen with an error message, which states, “You’ve retrieved the latest payroll update and validated your Payroll subscription. We strongly recommend that you go Online again before mm//dd/yyy.” Generally, such a payroll error arises when a user sends paychecks online, and the paychecks got stuck as “Online to send.” The employee payroll data contains a lot of crucial business information. Therefore, we suggest you be a little attentive and careful while implementing the troubleshooting solution to avoid the risk of data loss.

Solution 2) Manually update QuickBooks Desktop using the admin account • On the keyboard, press the Windows key to open the Start menu. • Type “QuickBooks Desktop” into the search box and right-click QuickBooks Desktop. • Choose the Run as administrator option. • If prompted, type in the admin username and password of QuickBooks Desktop. • On the keyboard, press Windows + E keys together to open the File Explorer. • Open the folder containing company files by navigating to the following path: C:\Users\Public\Public Documents\Intuit\QuickBooks\Company Files. • Search for the .qbw file and right-click it. • Press & hold the Alt key on the keyboard and then choose the Open option.

On the No Company Open window, go to the Help menu. • Choose the Update QuickBooks Desktop option from the drop-down menu. • On the Options tab, click on the Mark All option. • Go to the Update Now tab, select the Reset Update checkbox, and then click on the Get Updates option. • Restart QuickBooks Desktop and select the Yes option on the update installer pop-up. • Go to the Employee menu and select the My Payroll Service option from the drop-down menu. • Click on the Send Usage Data option and see whether the send is successful or not. • If the send is successful, try to update payroll again.
