Purpose and Goals • Purpose: To cooperatively determine a course of action for moving forward with ISO metadata implementation • Goals: • Establish a common understanding about ISO metadata initiatives and implementation • Determine the significant metadata challenges best addressed with a common strategy • Develop recommended actions to address these challenges

  4. Purpose and Goals • Outcomes: • Written report capturing discussion topics, decisions and recommendations • Follow up webinar for those unable to attend today’s Summit

Agenda • Morning: Presentations on Status of ISO… • Standards: AletaVienneau, ESRI • Application: Jacqueline Mize, NOAA and Rob Dollison, USGS • Implementation: Ted Habermann, NOAA • Education: Jacqueline Mize, NOAA • Afternoon: Breakout Groups • Identification of Common Issues • Recommendations for Common Solutions • Report-out from Breakout Groups • Summary and Adjourn

Logistics • Lunch: USGS Cafeteria (downstairs) • Afternoon Breakouts: • Sign up for a breakout group before lunch • Descriptions are in your welcome folders • Topics reflect the morning presentations • Room assignments will be announced before lunch • Rooms locations printed on description document • Restrooms and Cell Phones
