Uses and Gratifications Theory • The Uses and Gratifications Theory assumes audiences actively seek out media to satisfy individual needs. • The Uses and Gratifications Theory looks to answer three questions: • What do people do with the media? • What are their underlying motives for using said media? • What are the pros and cons of this individual media use?

  6. Assignment 4 Write an analysis on a social network game. • Think about all the social networking types we’ve discussed on this unit. Take into account genre (its use – gaming, film making, music, general social interaction), availability (phones, computer, hand held consoles), any changes over time; audience (as they grow older), social groups, parody, narrative structures and representation. • Evidence: • Research • Blog/Report (600 words minimum)
